The Oak Ridge North Police Department was created when the City was incorporated so that citizens could have a local law enforcement responsive to local needs. Since that time, the Oak Ridge North Police Department has been an integral part of the community.

The Department's main responsibilities involve:
  • Criminal investigation
  • Traffic enforcement
  • Police patrol
  • Crime prevention
  • Motor vehicle accident investigation

Our Department is small but effective. Many awards, including Officer of the Year, Texas Association Against Sexual Assault Justice Awards, Carnegie Hero Awards, and Texans for Equal Justice Victim Justice Awards, have been won by members of the Department or the Department itself.
