Members
The long range planning board shall be composed of seven individuals, who shall be taxpayers of the city, appointed from the city at-large. The members of the board shall serve in such capacity for a period of two years. Vacancies for the unexpired period of service of any member whose position becomes vacant shall be filled by selection by the Mayor, subject to approval by the City Council. Newly selected member shall be installed at the earliest possible regular board meeting or City Council meeting after their selection. Compensation for Board members shall be determined by the City Council.

Overview
The Board's objective is to review, study, and recommend long-range plans for the City's future, with a goal of increasing property values while decreasing property taxes through increased sales tax revenue. The Board aids the City in an advisory capacity only; the board has no administrative or legislative authority and performs functions under the direction of the City Council.
It is the mission of the Board to maintain a high quality of life and stimulate the economic base of the community.
