Defensive Driving/Deferred Disposition Request

Options
The following options may be available to you in order to dispose of your citation. However, some options may not be available depending on the charge(s) and requirements.

Driving Safety Course
You may request Defensive Driving to keep the offense you have been charged with from appearing on your driving record. It will also keep points from being assessed on your driver's license and insurance. You must make this request on or before your appearance date on the citation.

Deferred Disposition
You may wish to request a Deferred Disposition to keep the offense you have been charged with from appearing on your driving and/or criminal record. It will keep points from being assessed to your driver's license as required by the Texas Surcharge Program. You must request Deferred Disposition on or before your initial appearance date stated at the bottom of your citation.

Payment Plan
Payment arrangements can be made with the court for outstanding violations. The defendant may go online to request a payment extension of 30 days. If this is your initial appearance you will be required to put 25% of your total balance down, if your case is currently in warrant status then you will be required to pay 50% down.
