Fire Prevention

Pupose
The adoption of the 2018 International Fire Code is to establish minimum requirements for providing a reasonable level of life safety and property protection from the hazards of fire, explosion, or dangerous conditions in new and existing buildings, structures, and premises and to provide safety to firefighters and emergency responders during emergency operations.  

Fire Permits

Annual Fire Permit
All commercial occupancies within the City are required to have an annual fire inspection. If you receive notice from the City that your fire inspection is due, please do not disregard the notice. Please fill out the application and schedule your fire inspection. Please see attached application below.

Construction Permits
Certain projects require fire construction permits. Please see the links below for requirements.  There are exceptions to some of the requirements. Please contact the Building Department for clarification.

Operational Permits
Certain operations within commercial occupancies require annual operational permits. This is in addition to the annual fire inspection. Please see the link below for requirements. There are exceptions to some of the operations. Please contact the Building Department for clarification.
